My name is Marissa Meshulam and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist currently Practicing Living in NYC.

Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I moved to NYC last year to finish school to become an RD. I have a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin and a MS from New York University.

While completing my dietetic internship at the Bronx VA Hospital, I saw firsthand how a lack of proper nutrition can lead to chronic disease. During my year at the VA, my interest in using food as prevention grew. My true passion lies in incorporating healthy foods earlier on as a means of avoiding certain diseases.

My food philosophy is simple & inclusive.

Instead of categorizing foods as “good” or “bad” and spending time talking about foods we shouldn’t eat, I work with my patients to help them eat more real, whole foods that fit their preferences. I do not believe in “miracle foods”, but rather emphasize eating more real foods that are nourishing and enjoyable. After all, life is complicated, but food does not have to be.
