Our philosophy on nutrition & holistic wellness
WE BELIEVE GOOD NUTRITION IS A POWERFUL TOOL TO HELP UNLOCK A HEALTHIER, MORE EMPOWERED LIFE.
Our team takes a personalized approach to nutrition counseling—getting to know each client’s full story so we can support their journey forward with clarity and compassion. Marissa, our founder, is trained in Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT), and as a team we emphasize a mindful, sustainable relationship with food.
We help our clients unlearn diet culture’s rigid food rules and reconnect with the wisdom of their own bodies. Because we believe in kale... but also cake.

Marissa Karp is a New York City-based registered dietitian, founder of MPM Nutrition, and a sought-after media expert. Her lifelong curiosity led her to science—and ultimately, nutrition. While most kids were reading Harry Potter, Marissa was captivated by Eat This, Not That, eager to understand the science behind food choices. This deep-rooted passion helped her navigate her own journey with disordered eating and now fuels her mission to help others heal their relationship with food.
In a world filled with nutrition misinformation, influencer “experts,” and ever-changing diet trends, Marissa is a trusted voice, simplifying healthy eating with a personalized and mindful approach. She and her team work with anyone feeling overwhelmed with food. They specialize in eating disorders, gut health, chronic disease management, and body image distress—recognizing that true nourishment extends beyond just food to include sleep quality, internal dialogue, stress management and so much more.
A respected voice in the media, Marissa has been featured in Women’s Health, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Well+Good, and more. Beyond media contributions, she collaborates with brands she believes in to amplify their message and educate consumers. She has partnered with Simple Mills, Eggland’s Best, Suja Organic, Primal Kitchen, That’s It, and others.
Originally from Chicago, Marissa moved to New York City to complete her education as a registered dietitian. She began her career as an inpatient dietitian at Mt. Sinai before founding MPM Nutrition. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Science from New York University. Find her on instagram.
Avia Goldstein, Associate Dietitian
Avia Goldstein is an NYC based registered dietitian nutritionist and an associate RD at MPM Nutrition. She holds a BS in nutrition sciences from Rutgers University and a Masters in Nutrition from Lehman College.
-
Her interest in nutrition started early on when her Grandpa taught her about organic food and antioxidants long before they were trendy.
What began as curiosity about food's impact evolved into a deeply personal mission after recognizing the 'mental prison' that food and diet culture can create. Understanding her own complex relationship with nutrition inspired Avia to become a registered dietitian who does far more than track metrics or provide standard nutritional guidance.
In a world of conflicting nutrition advice, diet trends, and information overload, Avia helps her clients find clarity and calm. She is committed to helping people ditch 'all or nothing' thinking, simplifying nutrition, breaking down complex health concepts, and guiding clients towards a more peaceful relationship with food and their bodies.
Her extensive experience—from inpatient work at Mount Sinai to corporate wellness at a hedgefund—informs a nuanced, compassionate approach. Her work integrates nutrition science, evidence-based practices with mindful eating, addressing not just dietary intake, but body image, emotional wellness, and the complex dance of food and feelings. She believes we all are in a relationship with food, and it's a relationship so worth nurturing! Through her work, she empowers individuals to transform their relationship with food, rediscovering freedom and joy. Find her on Instagram.

She then completed her clinical dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Her love for food and feeding others began in the kitchen, cooking Persian dishes with her mom and grandma. However, it was her own experiences with disordered eating and chronic digestive issues that led her to pursue a career in nutrition and help others reclaim the joy and pleasure associated with the act of eating.
Sydney counsels through a client-centered, functional lens to uncover the underlying “why” and root cause of her clients’ concerns. She is dedicated to staying up-to-date with emerging research to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. Together, you will explore a range of topics, from mindful eating and joyful movement to sleep and mental wellbeing with a focus on identifying simple, sustainable habits that will lead to life-long changes.
Sydney also knows how challenging it is to eat in a way that makes us feel good physically, mentally, and emotionally. With her extensive experience in developing nutrient-dense recipes, meal prepping for busy individuals, and teaching cooking classes, she supports her clients on their journeys toward becoming confident cooks and mindful eaters. Whether you’re someone who is curious about plant-forward eating or navigating a new health diagnosis, Sydney will work with you to curate nutritionally-tailored meals and make balanced, nourishing eating an enjoyable part of your life.
