Marissa Karp is a New York City-based registered dietitian, founder of MPM Nutrition, and a sought-after media expert.
Her lifelong curiosity led her to science—and ultimately, nutrition. While most kids were reading Harry Potter, Marissa was captivated by Eat This, Not That, eager to understand the science behind food choices. This deep-rooted passion helped her navigate her own journey with disordered eating and now fuels her mission to help others heal their relationship with food.
In a world filled with nutrition misinformation, influencer “experts,” and ever-changing diet trends, Marissa is a trusted voice, simplifying healthy eating with a personalized and mindful approach. She and her team specialize in gut health, chronic disease management, diabetes, and body image distress—recognizing that true nourishment extends beyond just food to include sleep quality, internal dialogue, stress management and so much more.
A respected voice in the media, Marissa has been featured in Women’s Health, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Well+Good, and more. Beyond media contributions, she collaborates with brands she believes in to amplify their message and educate consumers. She has partnered with Simple Mills, Eggland’s Best, Suja Organic, Primal Kitchen, That’s It, and others.
Originally from Chicago, Marissa moved to New York City to complete her education as a registered dietitian. She began her career as an inpatient dietitian at Mt. Sinai before founding MPM Nutrition.
